Wenshu Temple

Built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) under the name of Xinxiang Temple, it had good and darker periods until its destruction during the war marking the end of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Its current name appears when it has been rebuilt by a Zen master in 1697.It is the main Zen temple in the region and the many relics it contains attract a crowd of believers. Around the temple is a beautiful 13-storey pagoda, a pleasant tea house, a vegetarian restaurant and a park where the elderly indulge in eternal mahjong parties.The district around the temple has been renovated “period style” to attract visitors.
