Church of Dengchigou

Dengchigou Church is located at the beginning of the Baoxing Valley, in the heart of the deep valleys separating the Sichuan plains and the Tibetan plateaus, bordering the last territories crossed by wild pandas.This old wooden church was built in 1839 by French explorer Father Armand David. He brought back the first panda in France (dead). 70% of the inhabitants of the valley where the church is located would be Christian to this day and Mass is celebrated every Sunday. This tour is a dive into rural Sichuan mountains, off the beaten track and comfortable (summary hotels, chaotic road).
