Tianchi Lake is located 110 kilometers east of Urumqi. It nestles in the heart of Tian Shan Mountain, hence the nickname “Pearl of the Celestial Mountain”. Located at an altitude of 1980 m, it measures 5 square kilometers.During the summer, the lake is the perfect place to relax. The travelers sail on the lake admiring pastures and wildflowers. Fishing at dusk is a unique moment.It is possible to walk around the lake, which offers magnificent views of the lake. You may have the chance to meet Kazakh shepherds on the road. Many yurts are built on the banks of the lake and Damuo Monastery as well. You can spend the night on the banks of the lake, either in a guesthouse or in a traditional yurt.
