East Lake, Wuhan’s Green Escape
The Donghu (East Lake) Scenic Area is located at 16 Yanhu Avenue in Wuchang District, Wuhan, Hubei Province. As a national key scenic area, a 5A-rated tourist attraction, and a national wetland park, East Lake is one of the most iconic urban nature destinations in central China.
Covering about 88 square kilometers, including 33 square kilometers of water surface, Donghu is one of the largest urban lakes in China. Lying to the east of Wuchang, it owes its name to this location: East Lake.
