72 Strange Buildings (72 Qilou)

Located at No.1 Wulingshan Avenue, this architectural complex is a new cultural symbol of Zhangjiajie, blending Tujia heritage with modern technology. While explicitly designed for tourists, its sheer scale makes the visit impressive and worthwhile!

Unique Architecture

Inaugurated in August 2022, the site spans 110,000 m² and features the world’s tallest Tujia-style stilted building, standing at 109.9 meters (Guinness World Record). Inspired by traditional dwellings of local minorities, the structures combine Ming/Qing-era elements with contemporary additions (LED lighting, modern materials).

Night Show

Each evening, the site transforms into a dazzling light spectacle using cutting-edge 7D holographic imaging technology. Over 36,000 RGBW lights adorn the buildings, projecting 72 thematic light displays. Visitors can also enjoy 20+ live performances showcasing local customs, such as Festive Lantern and Love of One’s Life.

Cultural & Culinary Experience

Performances : Tujia dances, traditional wedding parades, and martial arts demonstrations nightly (6:00 PM–10:35 PM).

Cuisine : Local and regional specialties from Xiangxi, Xi’an, Changsha, and Xinjiang.
