A historic Tibetan Buddhist temple on Wenbi Mountain

Located about 30 minutes from Lijiang’s Old Town, Wenfeng Temple sits on the slopes of Wenbi Mountain, overlooking the beautiful Lijiang Valley. The temple belongs to the Gyajupa school of Tibetan Buddhism and was founded in the 17th century during the reign of the Naxi King Mu Tian.

Visitors enjoy a pleasant walk between the lower and upper sections of the temple, set in a peaceful natural environment with tall pine trees and blooming camellias. The three-level structure features traditional triple-eaved roofs that create an authentic spiritual atmosphere.
