The Li River Retreat is located 2 km north of Yangshuo on the foothills of the west bank of the Li River. Bamboo groves and a small concrete path separate the hostel from the river. It is by this path, rather quiet, that one reaches Yangshuo, by choice, on foot, by bike (10 min) or by vehicle (on request). One can easily enjoy the entertainment offered in town while benefiting from the calm of the countryside and a splendid view of the river. The restaurant on site is very well rated by visitors, offering a varied cuisine and complemented by Australian wines. It is all the more pleasant as the hostel has a large terrace where one can also relax. The welcome is friendly and the rooms, most with balconies, are clean and comfortable. Below the hotel, small, almost heavenly beaches of fine sand are accessible (to be avoided in the early afternoon when the fleet of tour operators’ boats appears – during this period, vendors’ stalls also block the passage of vehicles on the way).
