The Big Wild Goose Pagoda
In the south of Xi’an, this pagoda was erected around 648 during the reign of Gaozhong, the 3rd Emperor of the Tang Dynasty. A fortress of brick and wood that measures 64m high. It was built in honor of the works written by the monk XuanZang. XuanZang, dissatisfied with the translations of Buddhist texts available at the time, went to India in search of original texts in Sanskrit. He translated them into 1335 volumes and then brought them back to China. The buildings that can be seen today date back to the Qing Dynasty and were built in the Ming style. At nightfall, we can admire a spectacle of jets of water and light. Inside, it is possible to attend a Chinese calligraphy class.
