Weather and climate in Guilin & Yangshuo
Guangxi Province Weather Forecast
Guangxi has a subtropical climate. Summer temperatures range from 23 to 29 degrees Celsius, while winter temperatures average between 6 and 16 degrees Celsius. Almost all of the rain falls between April and September.
This province is located in southern China. It faces the China Sea and borders Vietnam to the southwest. It is also crossed by the Tropic of Cancer, which therefore influences the subtropical climate of the region. Temperatures vary throughout the year and there are four seasons quite different from each other in this mountainous province, particularly in Guilin and Yangshuo. It can be said that each season has its charm and you can come and stay in Guangxi at any time.
Spring in Guilin and Yangshuo:
April, May, and June are the wettest months of the year in Guilin and Yangshuo. If you visit Guangxi province in spring, you can be sure of at least one downpour per day, so be sure to pack accordingly. However, due to this unfavorable climate for tourism, hotels offer lower rates than the rest of the year, especially in Yangshuo, the new tourist capital of Guangxi.
Summer in Guilin and Yangshuo:
Summer temperatures are quite high, sometimes reaching temperatures above 30°C. The hottest and most humid months are July and August, although evenings are a little cooler. However, the weather is often rainy during this period as the monsoon season is still in full swing. The climate is still very pleasant. Note that in Yangshuo, due to the rains, the Liu San Jie show is sometimes canceled, as are cruises on the Li River, which is then in flood. Your guide will then suggest an alternative program.
Autumn in Guilin and Yangshuo:
From September onwards, showers become less frequent, but temperatures also tend to drop, particularly in Guilin and Yangshuo. The weather remains suitable enough to enjoy the magnificent karst peaks of the Yangshuo region or the rice terraces of Ping’an and Longji, as well as those of Chengyang.
Winter in Guilin and Yangshuo:
Winter is relatively mild throughout the Guilin and Yangshuo region. Temperatures range between 6 and 16°C. January is generally the coldest month of the year. Be careful, however, if you go out after dark, as temperatures can drop below freezing. Snow also occasionally occurs in the mountains of northern Guangxi, but this is rare.
