Program : Beijing – Xi’an – Chengdu – Leshan – Emeishan – Guilin – Ping’an – Yangshuo – Shanghai
Goedemorgen Jacques !
We are back after our Great Chinese Journey!
We had a great time: it was very varied and perfectly accompanied. The guides and drivers were lovely.
What a country!
Here’s a little glimpse from the Ping’an rice fields: a place we really liked!
Thank you again and continue to make travelers dream and accompany them!
I’ll just give you some personal feedback (obsessive that I am) about the trip (which was great):
The hotel in the hutong in Beiijng: great location! Small criticism concerning the hotel which I found a little outdated and not super clean…we had rooms with carpet which was not very clean (I know, I know: I am very much on cleanliness…)
We discovered a small café just off our alley on the right, which is also a bed and breakfast. It looked very nice (especially when you arrive and discover what is different about China) Café name Le Peking.
Pingyao: very nice, nice little hotel and very good breakfast 🙂 We discovered the Yide while having dinner there on the advice of friends who were there 2 weeks before us. It might be interesting to see what the hotel is like: we found the place very zen and peaceful (especially coming from Beijing, a big hectic city!) and it was delicious!
XI ‘an: very well located Les Citadines hotel and pleasant room, except for the breakfast which is not very appealing
Our guide Lily was charming and she celebrated our son in style at the theater with a beautiful cake! He will remember his 20th birthday!!!!
small café run by a Chinese woman who is a fan of France (Macron stopped by during his trip to Xi’an! She also celebrated Faguo’s birthday!!!!!
Chengdu: We loved the Buddha Zen hotel with its delicious breakfast! A place I could have stayed for one more day to explore!
Unfortunately, there were a lot of people coming to see the pandas! We met some Swedish women who had also volunteered for a day at another center. And it was less crowded and they were able to feed the pandas! We would have loved to do it! Next time 🙂 but maybe something to suggest during this tour?
We loved our vegetarian hotpot dinner in the Buddhist temple just across the street!
Our guide Kristina was lovely and we learned a lot about Buddhism 🙂
Ping’an is one of our favorites!!!!! These rice fields are so beautiful!!! Claire is a charming guide too! Top hotel and delicious food!
I would have liked to have made a tea plantation too!
Yangshuo: total relaxation! Delicious food, lovely staff and we did absolutely nothing except read and swim and play pool and cards! We needed a break from the stifling heat! So we didn’t do the rafting…or the bike ride…but hey, holidays are also about relaxing 🙂 And Sweet sixteen for our daughter in the evening with a beautiful cake that we were able to organize upon arrival 🙂
We met some Dutch people there who had spent a few days in the nearby Giggling Tree. It looks very cute too!
Then arrived in Shanghai: ouhalala….hard to readjust to the noise of the city after our zen break…
The Narade Hotel (Ssaw) is great: delicious breakfast! And well located! Very good bedding 🙂
That’s it for these few returns that I hope you won’t take badly!
Our heads are filled with beautiful images And I realize that the itinerary was very complete and that it is a joy to be guided and not have to do anything 🙂
Thank you again and have a nice evening.
