Guzang Festival – Guzang Festival in April 2024. Traditional festival that offers sacrifices to the ancestors of the Miao in Miao villages.
Hello Serge
I now take the time to give you some feedback on our trip.
We were delighted with our week
It was a good idea to visit Zhaoxing early in our trip, as the crowds were not yet there, and the village gave us a first impression of the Dong lifestyle.
Very nice hotel with magnificent view.
Zhaoxing Huanggang Dali: Very good. Beautiful Huanggang Village. Amazing master musician!
Dali-Zenlei: Not much of interest. No market, no indigo factory, ghostly Yeji village just like Zhenlei.
If I had to recommend this trip, apart from the treks, which must be very beautiful, I would remove this stage.
Zhenlei-Kaili: Interesting Bajie walk, original and interesting Shiquiao, even if the paper factory in the caves was closed (May 1st). No visit to Jidao
But a nice day.
Kaili-Langde –Zhenyuan
Kaili’s magnificent handicraft market.
No Langde due to landslide but an incredible Guzang festival found on TikTok by Zhou. Highlight of the trip!!!
Zhenyuan: A very, very well-located hotel. A very, very touristy city. Not essential for the week, but so characteristic of China.
Zhenyuan-Yuntai-Guiyang
Very beautiful place, even though my husband, who suffers from vertigo, was unable to do the walk. A bit of nature walking was much appreciated.
Superb especially for someone who has not yet been to Zhangjiajie
Qinyuan
Ultra-touristy, but very interesting historical location. And it’s a bit of a change from the villages.
Zhou is very friendly and speaks absolutely impeccable French.
He could be a little more talkative sometimes.
So overall a great week.
We were spoiled by the weather, with rain only at night. We learned a lot about the lives and crafts of the region’s minorities.
A Chinese colleague of my husband may have already contacted you!
Thank you
Sincerely
Christine
