Shanghai – Canton – Wuzhou – Yangshuo – Xingping – Dazhai – Chengyang – Guilin – Xi’an – Shanghai
Hello Jérémy,
A lot of time and emails were exchanged to complete this great trip to China. Thank you for your responsiveness and the quality of the information provided!

In some places, I only wanted the train or plane reservation, the hotel, and the pick-up upon arrival: everything was perfect, the hotels were wisely chosen, in strategic locations for visits and photos (next to the Bund, “the Astor house”, a superb colonial hotel, at the top of the rice fields, the “Jintian”, with a fantastic view; close to the pagodas in Guilin and next to the towers and the Muslim quarter in Xi’an. A favorite for the Dong hostel in Chengyang. The “Riverside Retreat” opposite Yangshuo, in the nearby countryside, quiet, with its swimming pool and its adorable owner Shelly, delighted us, despite the rainy weather.

It was a nice surprise to meet you in Wuzhou and learn that you would be our driver for our trip to the Chinese mountains! It was reassuring for all of us because we had had some disappointments trying to find our own places to visit, places we never found…; the language barrier is undeniable!
Thank you for your encouragement on the climb to Tiantou; it wasn’t easy with my damaged feet but I’m so happy to have done it! The road to Chengyang was cut off by a landslide, so you didn’t hesitate to take another route, considerably extending your driving time so that we could have the privilege of seeing this famous thousand-year-old “wind and rain” bridge.
We were therefore the only “tourists” in this village, I realize how lucky we were to discover it peacefully as well as the surrounding villages with their magnificent drum tower…
Thanks to you and your app on your mobile phone, we crossed the country of the Dong and we have fabulous memories of it: we really fell in love with these warm people and their wooden villages in the middle of the rice fields or clinging to the mountains; what a privilege, the girls loved it!
I am very happy to have found “Asian Roads”, I think it is an excellent agency for organizing trips to China, what a pain if we had managed on our own…
Now, I only dream of one thing: returning to the land of the Dong, staying longer in Chengyang and crossing Guizhou to meet other ethnic groups, especially the Miao. I hope to quickly find people to accompany me and I will come back to you for the organization of course!
Best wishes,
Véronique Demandre
