Hello
I’ve been meaning to write to you for a few months now. 5 months have passed, but the memories are still there, and the many photos taken are there to remind us of them. We were delighted with this trip – Guizhou and Guangxi – both for the diversity of ethnic groups, landscapes, and architecture, surrounded by smiling, kind, and welcoming people.
You were able to give us what we were looking for – festivals (rare at the time we were there), colorful markets, a few beds in local homes. We were also very well accompanied and I would say “pampered” by a guide, Zhou, who was looking for our aspirations. Thanks to him, we were invited to a wedding at the farmers’ house and were treated to a delicious meal and a show put on by the women who danced and sang for our small group.
The first part, Guizhou, took place in very pleasant weather, which was not the case for Guangxi. The landscapes are very beautiful and we had the great joy of attending a rice festival, a very important gathering with a buffalo fight and numerous rounds formed by women dressed in their ceremonial costumes and especially their marvelous silver headdresses, accompanied by joueurs from Lucheng (several ethnic groups were present). We were the only “long-noses” to attend. I also wanted to tell you that we were delighted with Zhenyuan, a very pretty little town, a place to see.
Very beautiful memories also in Gunagxi of the magnificent bridges of wind and rain, the superb rice fields, some in water, the dragon’s spine and I point out to you that the longi one hotel in Ping’an is to be recommended, magnificent decoration and very beautiful view on the rice fields. In addition the owner is adorable. Of course we liked Yanshuo and the part of the Li river where we saw very few European tourists – to be noted !! calm and peaceful place although the engines of the small boats are a little noisy !!
In short, a success thanks to you. You possess great qualities as a tour operator – it is the responsiveness with which you responded to the mail we sent you during the project and also the seriousness with which you arranged the tour according to our wishes. We only regretted not being able to have the pleasure of sharing a few hours with you (only a few minutes) but you had family obligations that prevented you from extending this meeting. I am making up for it by discovering you in your book that I have only just begun to read.
Thanks again and I will be sure to recommend you when discussing travel.
Best regards,
Genevieve
