Group GAUTIER – Trip to China (14 days)

Beijing – Chinese Wall – Xi’an – Chongqing and cruise on the Yangtze River – Guilin – Yangshuo – Ping’an – Shanghai

Hello Jérémy,

It’s been a month since we returned from our trip to China, but our memories are still vivid and we often go there in our heads.
The five of us were thrilled with our trip; everything was perfectly orchestrated and organised, and we never once waited for our guides or drivers.
We loved the Sihe Courtyard hotel in Beijing, the welcome was so warm and the food excellent, it’s a typical Beijing hotel with its inner courtyards and its small rooms with closed beds: only the extra bed was uncomfortable, the hutongs have a lot of charm.

We got on better with one of our guides, the one in Xian whom we called Hui (Monsieur Lihui), and we exchanged contact details, but I’ve lost the paper they were on: could you try contacting him to ask for them? He’s due to come to France in two years’ time and we’d like to see him again.

You’re living in a country that’s certainly highly urbanised, but also fascinating for its thousand-year-old civilisation, its excessiveness, its people – the Chinese are extremely kind – and its rural nature: the rice fields of the Dragon’s Back and the Li River are unforgettable landscapes.

My only regret is that I didn’t see Pingyao, even though it wasn’t very far from Xian, and that I didn’t stay longer in Shanghai, which I found breathtaking.

Your agency has done a great job, as they say, thank you.

Kind regards
