Jean-François – On the borders of China – Oct 2024

A wonderful discovery of China via the “Confins de Chine” tour. It is a very intense 15-day tour with a wide variety of must-see historical sites and national parks to discover breathtaking nature. We particularly appreciated the quality of the French-speaking guides who accompanied us, very good command of our language, the richness of the historical explanations and on life in China, and their total availability to make our trip very enjoyable.

We were a small group of 8 friends, supplemented by 5 other people (very good understanding between all). The choice of restaurants by our guides was always perfect, as was the accommodation, excellent in the large sites which offer very good hotels and satisfactory in the sites where accommodation is more rare. A big thank you to our contact “China-Roads”, Paul for his promptness in responding to all our requests. This is the second time we have used this agency, which we truly recommend without any reservation.

The messages from friends are very comprehensive and reflect our feelings and I have only thanks to add to your agency for the perfect organization of the tour.

The local guides were very pleasant, indeed all different, and I would like to explain my country as they do.

The trip will remain in our memories like the one made to YUNNAN which remains wonderful and which I speak about regularly and which lights up stars in the eyes.

Some free time would indeed be comfortable between certain transfers but can be difficult to organize in large cities.

Thanks again and maybe see you soon for other discoveries.

We, in turn, would like to add our little stone to the relevant comments of our travel companions:
Like them, we thank your agency for your efficiency. We are delighted by our trip to this immense country: a guaranteed change of scenery, superb landscapes, a diversity of sites visited… 4 truly professional French-speaking guides, to be treasured 🙂
For purely personal comments: we both would have liked a little more free time. Our great guides always found us excellent places to satisfy our gourmet taste buds, but perhaps some meals could be taken individually to gain that freedom that we sometimes lacked. For example, in Xi’an, when we arrived from the train, walking the streets alone before visiting the mosque would have allowed us to breathe a little, each at our own pace.
Other suggestions: As Jean-François already mentioned, the afternoon in Yangshuo was long. We would have preferred to take an earlier flight to be able to enjoy Shanghai for longer.
As for the hotels, we really appreciated the less Western charm and the very good comfort of the Muzitang in Wulingyuan and the Baike hotel in Ping’an, the 2 most beautiful addresses of the stay in our humble opinion. The other accommodations were very good. Only the hotel in Furong was disappointing: uneven comfort of the rooms and very limited breakfast (even the tea was not great). The hotel in Yangshuo, with its old-fashioned charm, it is true, would require a little maintenance, but its calm and its swimming pool are appreciable and its breakfasts are quite decent.
