Program: Kunming – Dali – Xizhou – Shaxi – Tiger Leaping Gorge – Shangri La – Lijiang – Jianshui – Yuanyang – Stone Forest – Lexiaguo – Kunming
Hello,
The trip went very well and we returned safely.
GUIDE: very good French-speaking guide, adorable, attentive, available.
ITINERARY: Very good, however, a lot of kilometers the second week to reach the different sites. However, I would have liked to see Lake Lugu in the north, which is seen everywhere in photos in local agencies, as well as azure blue terraced pools (like Pamukale in Turkey). It would have been necessary to add a day/night to the circuit.
HOTELS: Very good selection of charming and characterful hotels. Only the Hotel des Terres Rouges was disappointing.
We really enjoyed the Xizhou hotel, the Shangri-La hotel, Jianshui (excellent) and the Yuanyang hotel.
The hotel in Lijiang was good but we all had uneven rooms from the superb suite to the small, dark room with no view.
The Kunming hotel is well located and pleasant with a very good breakfast;
TRANSPORT: Interesting TGV experience, epic night in a sleeper train (had security search problems at the station, shared one of the three sleeper cabins with another train passenger).
Very comfortable and spacious minibus, especially in the south (new). Careful drivers (despite a few overtakings on bends in the south).
MEALS: Very good, hearty meals. However, some areas are very simple and not always very clean (floor, toilets, kitchen, etc.)
We enjoyed the Tibetan fondue, the private dinner at the Jianshui hotel, the vast majority of restaurants and the farewell dinner in Kumning and never going back to the same restaurant twice.
Yunnan Roads Agency which I will definitely recommend.
I would like to take another trip to China combining a few days on a cruise to see the Three Gorges and travel through Sichuan.
Thank you for your assistance and expertise in making our trip safe and comfortable.
Yours faithfully.
Sincerely
Jean Philippe
