Shanghai – Guilin – Yangshuo – Xi’an – Beijing – Great Wall of China
Hello Jeremy,
We are very satisfied with your services and will recommend the package to our friends.
Below is a quick overview of the different services:
1. Air travel and welcome/transfers by guides or drivers: very good. Very convenient to pick up tickets at the counter with your passport.
A little tip: inform your customers about the weight limits for checked baggage. Air France: it’s 23 kg. However, when we checked in Hong Kong on HK Airlines, the limit was 20 kg.
2. Shanghai: The hotel is well located in the French Concession and quiet. The only problem was coming home late one evening and finding the gate closed and no doorbell. Luckily, I was able to reach through the gate and lift the gate bolt rod…
3. Guillin: this is our favorite stop.
– We really liked the hotel and its location near the lake and the park.
– Guide and driver services: very good
– Rice field tour was very good, even if it was a bit difficult for my wife who was afraid of heights when it was steep. Village restaurant: very good
– River cruise: very good. Too bad about the muddy water following the floods.
– Too bad that due to the floods, we couldn’t go to Yangshuo. We’ll have to come back…
– Organized restaurants: very good.
4. Xi’an :
– Apartment hotel: OK but without charm. But it was only for one night, so OK.
– Guide’s service: very good. Driver good.
– Lunch restaurant selection very good.
5. Beijing
– Kellys Hotel: original and charming (central patio) and very friendly staff. The room is small and the bathroom area is a bit rustic > may surprise some guests…
– Driver service: very good
– Guide service: good but different from Guillin or Xi’an…
– Great Wall and Summer Palace tour: very good
– Tiananmen and Forbidden City tour: very good
– Hutong tour by rickshaw: a bit basic (but the weather wasn’t very nice…)
– Lunch restaurants > not up to the standard of the services we had in Guillin or Xi’an.
At the Great Wall: limited but decent menu – limited drink: “1 glass of beer”.
The next day: a meal was planned at a local’s house in the Hutongs, but we arrived a little late and another group of French tourists was already occupying the place.
We were offered the kitchen but we declined. We came back later but it was still busy and after talking to a French tourist who found the meal very simple and of limited quality, we encouraged the guide to go to a nearby restaurant. After calling his agency, he took us but searched and found a restaurant (I think within his budget) very simple… – Airport transfers: very good.
Here’s a quick rundown.
If you have any specific questions, don’t hesitate!
