Zhangjiajie – Tianmen – Furong – Zuolong – Fenghuang – Wuyishan – Nanjing – Gulangyu
“After a little Chinese Covid reported in France and the resumption of everyday business, I’m taking the time a little late to write a short report on our trip.
The HUNAN.
The program was perfect, the sites were magnificent, and the hotels were well chosen.
We were very lucky with the weather… (typhoon season!)
Obviously, we knew there would be crowds, and we weren’t disappointed…
Fortunately, Andrew was very efficient in organizing our visit to the parks he knows well, helping us avoid the crowded areas.
For an additional fee, on the first day, we got a skip-the-line ticket, which allowed us to avoid at least two hours of queuing; it was a great idea.
The hotel inside Zhangjiaje Park was also a great idea.
For the rest of the trip, this very discreet guide (Furong) was less at ease and offered few explanations about local life or history, and no advice on restaurant choices. We could have explored the old houses of this town with him (away from the hyper-touristy main streets).
We appreciated your quick response when we couldn’t find our train to Wuyishan at the station!
The FUJIAN.
The program and hotels were equally satisfying.
Ms. Spring is an excellent guide who was able to adapt the program (we didn’t do Tiger Rock, which was too difficult in the heat).
She has excellent knowledge of tea, and we enjoyed some wonderful tastings with her.
A must-do on your tour is the tea show; it’s BREATHTAKING!
Apparently, people come from all over China for this show.
Our last guide, Mr. Fish, for the Tulous region was perfect, knowledgeable, warm, and very interesting.
Another wonderful program, and relatively uncrowded at this time of year.
However, regarding payment methods in China, we absolutely must help tourists.
Thanks to our son, who downloaded Alipay on my phone with his Chinese account, I was able to pay without any problems.
Paying by WeChat wasn’t possible. Since cash is almost never used anymore, I wonder how we would have managed if we had traveled alone.
All in all… we’ll definitely come back with you!”
