Ravel Family – China Family Tour

Program : Beijing – Xi’an – Yangshuo – Shanghai

Dear Stéphane,

We’ve been back for a few weeks now, and after talking to our friends about our trip, my husband and I realized that some people were exceptional to us. Among these people, there is one in particular: Mrs. Li, our guide in Beijing, and we would like you to pass this letter on to your Beijing correspondent.

As you know, we are a family of 5 and we met her in Beijing. We didn’t think people could be so professional. This little lady, full of humor and knowledge, first surprised us with her excellent French with the subtleties of our language. She even noted down certain expressions that she did not know. She was more than just a guide. We didn’t even need to contact the local correspondent whose contact details you gave us. She was more than just a guide. She listened to us throughout our stay and met all our expectations. She was attentive to each of us and at our complete disposal. It is not always easy to manage a family where each member takes their own photo and whose 3 teenagers are constantly moving. She was able to perfectly guide us to sites that were not on our program, such as the Lama Temple or the wall that we rebuilt but this time in its restored part.

She gave us her WECHAT contact information in case we wanted to continue the conversation. She stayed in touch with us throughout our trip, such as in Pingyao, where she recommended a temple outside the city. Another example in Xi’an was that we were in a restaurant where no one spoke English and the menu was only in Mandarin and without any photos. At that moment, we had two options: leave the restaurant or call a friend. The friend in question was Ms. Li, who ordered our meal for us over the phone from Beijing. That evening, she saved our evening because we were tired and one of our children was sick.

We never expected to meet such a kind person and hope that our paths will cross again one day. The only flaw with Ms. Li is that after her, the other guides who did their job very well seem rather bland.

We wanted to explain all this to you because throughout our trip, it’s often said that the French are romantic, critical, and grumblers. However, when you meet extraordinary people, it’s important to let them know. We also want to take this opportunity to thank you, Stéphane, for your professionalism and availability.

We will recommend your agency as we are really happy with it.
