Day 1: Beijing

Welcome to China !

Welcome at the airport by your driver then direction Beijing.
Installation at your hotel, the Sihe Hotel, which is located in the famous Beijing Hutongs.

Day 2: Beijing

Meet your guide and your driver, drive to Tian An Men, the most famous place of the Chinese capital to go around. Then visit the forbidden city, once residence of Chinese emperors and center of political power. It is the largest and best preserved architectural ensemble in China. At the exit, weather permitting, climb the coal hill, where you can enjoy a 360 degree view of Beijing. Lunch at the inhabitant then walk in the old Beijing. Then you can either learn how to make kites, or draw on a traditional mask of Beijing opera.

Day 3: Beijing

Meet your guide and your driver, drive to the Great Wall Mutianyu, a restored portion of the Great Wall of China built on 6700 km long to protect the Middle Kingdom from the invasions of the Barbarians of the North, a World Heritage Site. Humanity (planned climb in gondola and toboggan). Lunch at the foot of the Great Wall then return to town for an introductory course of one hour in Chinese calligraphy where you can learn to write your first names in Mandarin.

Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an Night Train

Meet your guide and your driver, drive to the Beijing Zoo where you can admire the famous Pandas of China. Then drive to the Summer Palace, the entrance is by boat and the exit on foot. Your lunch is in the form of a picnic in a place of your liking in the huge park of Empress Cixi. After a last stroll around Lake Houhai, transfer at the end of the day to the West Railway Station of Beijing to take your Z19 night train to Xi’an: departure at 20:40 and arrival at 8:31 the next morning.

Day 5: Xi'an

Arrival at 8:31 in Xi’an, welcome by your driver and your guide. After a quick breakfast, transfer to a family apartment where you will have the opportunity to discover and practice some typical Chinese activities during your stay in Xi’an. Direction then the historical heart of the city for a walk on the ramparts which measure 14KM. Possibility to rent bicycles on site and discover the different towers in passing, including the tower of the west which is dedicated to the Silk Road (supplement 45RMB / person for 2:00). Resumption of the road for the famous site of the army in terracotta supposed to protect the tomb of the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi. Reminiscent discovery of 6,000 warriors and clay horses, life-size, aligned in battle formation.

Day 6: Xi'an

In the morning at 9:00 am, meeting with driver and French speaking guide. Head to the Muslim Quarter where you can visit the Great Mosque. Then drive to the Little Wild Goose Pagoda built to house the sutras brought back from India by the monk Yijing. Then visit the Xi’an Museum for a dive into the history of the city. In the afternoon, return to your apartment for an introduction to the game of mahjong then attend a Chinese cooking workshop where you will learn how to prepare sautéed dishes that you will then have the pleasure of tasting them (possibility of choosing other types dishes: grilled fish, bread dipped in mutton broth or beef, ravioli and noodles, etc …). Dinner will be followed by a free tea tasting session.

Day 7: Xi'an - Flight Guilin - Ping'an

Early departure by private car to the airport for your flight to Guilin or you will be greeted by your guide and your private driver. Road to the rice terraced area of ​​Longji, north of Guilin, gathered around the Zhuang village of Dazhai and Ping’an. Arrival below the village of Ping’an, which you will reach with the local shuttles then on foot after 30 minutes of walking (you can prepare a bag of garment and spare your bag left luggage). This village of Zhuang ethnic group, is located in a beautiful setting of rice terraces, probably the most impressive in the region. Go up at the top of the rice fields for a superb point of view.Accommodation at Ping’an Hotel 3 * with breakfast.

Day 8: Ping'an - Yangshuo

This morning, find your vehicle then drive to the sugar loaf region south of Guilin in the Yangshuo region known for its karst peak landscapes (3 hours drive). Check in at your hotel, the Riverside Retreat.

In the afternoon, you can do one of the following activities:

– discovery of a semi-wild cave with mud baths and hot water (not recommended for children under 7 years)

– Cycling on Yulong river bank (child seat available) or in electric scooters, climbing (rock climbing) on ​​sugar loaf (forbidden at least 7 years old)

– rafting in tumultuous water; horseback riding on small trails in the middle of the peaks (1h hiking)

– Local cooking class with tasting of the prepared meal and purchase at the local market

– Visit of a small wild cave perched at the top of a peak “Treasure Cave” (possibility of shooting with drone of the family in the cave seen from the sky

– Visit of the silver grotto arranged and accessible to children

– Walk on the Yulong River in a real bamboo raft with a boatman who moves the raft forward with a pole. Descent of small lookouts, loop of 40 minutes (for a distance and a longer duration foresee a supplement)

End of the day free for a discovery of West Street.

In the evening, opportunity to attend a traditional fishing demonstration by lantern light with tamed cormorants.

Day 9: Yangshuo

After breakfast departure by car, with your French-speaking guide, to the magnificent Xianggong UNESCO World Heritage Site. Climb to the top of the scenic point for a bird’s eye view of the Li River. Find the vehicle that will drop you 5km away from a trail that you will walk through the orchards of citrus and small hamlets to the village of Xingping (1h30 to 2h00 hiking). The path offers a beautiful perspective on the river. You will also visit a small temple nestled on the banks at the entrance of the cave of the Snail where some monks still live. Cross the river with the local ferry and discover the old Xingping Street where you can have lunch. In the afternoon take a raft ride on one of the most beautiful parts of the Li River between Xingping and the hill of the 9 horses, through small fishing villages, rice fields and bamboo groves (1h30 cruise around ). It is a landscape of this portion that inspired the illustration of the Chinese 20RMB Note. Return to Xingping Village and drive to Yangshuo and your hotel.

In the evening, you can enjoy the sound and light show “Liu San Jie”, based on a very popular Chinese musical, directed by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou (director of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games ). It takes place on the Li River in a beautiful natural setting surrounded by karstic mountains)

Day 10: Yangshuo - Shanghai Train

Meet with your guide and your driver then 2 activities to choose from the list of the day 8.
After your family activities, drive to Guilin Station to catch your T78 night train to Shanghai: departure at 16:44 (Guilin North).

Day 11: Shanghai

Arrival at 10:18. Welcome by your guide and your driver. You start with a cricket / cricket market tour. Then direction the old French concession also called Burgundy city (Bu Gao Li), also visit the pedestrian streets of Xintiandi and Tianzifang. Walk along the very long Nanjing Lu pedestrian street towards the Bund where you can admire the great towers of the business district.

Finally, go to the Narada hotel to get settled.

Day 12: Shanghai

Appointment with your French-speaking guide for a day of life in Shanghainese. By using the subway and / or buses (supplements not included in the quote), you go to a working class city to spend a day with a family from Shanghai, and discover their daily life. You will learn how to make ravioli that you will enjoy for lunch.

Day 13: Shanghai

Meet with your guide and your driver for a day Contraste. Direction first of all one of the many water city of Southeast China: Zhujiajiao. In the afternoon, return to Shanghai via the financial district and its skyscrapers from where you can have a superb 360 ° view of the city from the tower of the Pearl Oriental. Visit the Shanghai History Museum located at the foot of this.

Day 14: Shanghai - Flight Paris
