Introduction to Qiyunshan
Mount Qiyunshan, located halfway between Tunxi and Yixian, in Xiuning County, is a high place of Taoism, culminating at an altitude of 585m. Unlike its neighbor Huangshan, you will find a village here as well as temples. The nature is also more luxuriant and you will see several tea fields. You can also cross them during a hike.
How to get to Mount Qiyunshan?
Access to Mount Qiyunshan can be done either by cable car or on foot. Often, we suggest you do it on foot, it is in some way part of the “pilgrimage” and the climb lasts between 40 minutes and 1 hour. If you prefer, you can of course access it by cable car.
What to do at Mount Qiyunshan?
When traveling to Mount Qiyunshan with China Roads, we will offer you a one-day hike, which is divided into two parts. The first includes the 3 temples of the site, the village and the dinosaur footprints. The second is more natural and allows you to go around the mountain and see the “cave”. It is not necessary to spend a night there but it is a good way to immerse yourself in local life. On certain days, it is possible to participate in a service in the main temple.
