Presentation of ND Camp:
A stay at ND Camp is a wonderful way to experience the splendor of Tibetan culture and the natural beauty of the Tibetan Plateau in style and comfort. Located just twenty minutes from Labrang, a famous Tibetan monastic town in Kanlho Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the site, a traditional winter pasture for nomadic herds, is magnificent. Covering 11 hectares, it is surrounded by the distant hills and mountains of the plateau; it borders a meandering river and is home to hares and marmots, foxes, gazelles and many birds, including pheasants. ND Camp has 6 tents and 7 wooden huts. Since its opening in 2014, it has been highly rated by travelers and the specialized press: – 《Travel+Leisure》: One of the 43 most beautiful hotels in the world – 《Condé Nast Traveller》: The top hotels in China – 《National Geographic》: Top 10 Adventure Lodges in the world
What to do at ND Camp:
During the day, you can share the daily life of nomadic families, milk yak milk, go for a horse ride, hike in the heart of the steppe with your guide, enjoy a delicious nomadic picnic in the middle of nature… Or simply meditate in the fresh air, do a yoga session or let yourself be seduced by the surprise guests such as hares, marmots, Tibetan antelopes, yaks and all kinds of birds! You will also have the opportunity to visit some craft workshops that supply yak cashmere products to major brands such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton or Lavin. After sunset, you can enjoy the sauna or a Tibetan bath scented with medicinal plants. In the evening, when night falls, relax in your room at the foot of the fireplace or enjoy a superb starry sky around a campfire with family or as a couple.
Eat:
Meals at ND Camp offer a unique blend of tradition and invention, taking staples from the plateau and creatively transforming them to bring out new flavors. The chef, who has lived and worked in Tibetan regions for many years, offers menus that are deeply rooted in Tibetan culinary tradition. Yak, pork and mutton, fresh yak yogurt and butter, wild mushrooms, barley, herbs and vegetables… All of these ingredients are seasonal, natural and sourced from the steppe.
