Family trip from north to south – 19 October to 02 November 2024

Our trip went very well, not only because of the favourable weather (sun from Beijing to Hong Kong) but also thanks to the perfect organisation put in place by Serge for our small group of 17 people. We appreciated the responsiveness of everyone involved with Asian Roads. They were quick to respond to our questions, both in preparing the trip (Ingrid and Serge) and during our wanderings in China (local correspondents).

The group was blown away by the efficiency of Asian Roads in finding a new Beijing-Guilin flight for one of the group members whose flight had been cancelled. Hats off to them.

The hotels offered the level of comfort expected for a group of eight children and 9 adults. Some hotels even had play areas, or even rooms with toys (Xian and Yang Shuo), which were much appreciated by the children.

We were surprised by the picturesque aspect of the Ping Yao hotel, with its large family rooms decorated in the style of the Ming dynasty.

TRANSPORT: Nothing to criticise about the drivers, who were punctual, courteous and drove carefully. Very clean, spacious buses.

We got to know the Chinese TGV. Access to the carriages is very easy as long as there are no bugs with the passport readers!

The TANG show in Xi An was a marvel for our group, and the jiao zhi a delight. The same goes for the Peking duck in Beijing.

Although access to the terraces of Long Ji was a little tricky, the beauty of the site soon made us forget the crowds at the bus station.

We’ll have fond memories of this trip, and a few anecdotes to take home with us:

– A forgotten bag on the Great Wall forced some of them to run back to the highest point of the wall!

– The grandparents’ weighing session before taking a raft on the River Yu Long!

In conclusion, thank you to the entire ASIAN ROADS team!
