Program: Kunming – Stone Forest – Jianshui – Yuanyang – Dali – Xizhou – Tiger Leaping Gorge – Shangri La – Lijiang
1/ Circuit and points of interest: well chosen
Excellent choices. The rice paddies offer exceptional scenery. We were a little less convinced by the “red earth” and the old town of Dali, which is – in our opinion – overly touristy.
2/ Accommodation and catering: excellent and sometimes exceptional
We were surprised by the high quality and aesthetics of the hotels on offer. The one in Lexiaguo was of inferior quality, but Asian Roads—through no fault of its own—had warned us. Furthermore, this hotel offered us decent bedding and a decent bathroom. So-called “boutique” hotels fully deserved this description.
We found all the meals to be excellent, without exception. Excellent choices by Lala.
3/ Transport: comfortable
After the first vehicle was clearly too small for the group and their luggage, the following vehicles were very comfortable.
Travel times remained reasonable and punctuated by frequent stops.
In any case, since the points of interest weren’t so close to each other, we had to get there somewhere.
The local TGV is also very comfortable.
4/ The group: pleasant
Made up of people – not very young – who have all travelled a lot…
5/ Guide: exceptional
In short: exceptional. Lala greatly contributed to the success of our trip. Professionalism, competence, attention to the needs of travelers, fluency in French, choice of meals, presentation of Chinese life… A gem.
6/ Conclusion: we will recommend
Excellent value for money, excellent guide: excellent memory. This trip perfectly met our expectations.
We will definitely recommend Asian Roads to our friends, and for a tour in Yunnan, Lala as our guide.
