What to see on Gulangyu Island?

The peak of the sun

We reach the Sun Peak by the monastery of the Lotus Flower. This is the highest point of the island, located in the easternmost part. Its name comes from the rays that illuminate its granite and rocks in the early morning. You can climb to the top to enjoy an overview of Xiamen and Gulangyu but also the islands of Dadan and Xiaodan.

Shuzhuang Garden

Built in 1931 on the south side of the island, Shuzhuang Garden was once a private villa. It became a park open to the public in 1955. Located on the south shore of the island, the garden offers magnificent views of the sea. Pavilions and bridges appear in the middle of nowhere, in the heart of a forest tropical.

The piano museum

Located in the heart of Shuzhuang Garden, this small museum houses more than 200 pianos. The only one in China dedicated to this instrument. Most coming from abroad, old and very rare.
