Introduction to Huanglongxi Village
On a half-day trip or during a stopover on the way to Leshan, Huanglongxi is a village with more than 900 years of history on the banks of the Huanglong River. The riverbank is a pleasant place to enjoy a cup of tea or a local fish dish to the sound of the Erhu, a two-stringed guitar played by a few street musicians. The old temple occupied by the village’s elderly is said to have 1,800-year-old Bannians and has been the setting for many period films. Stalls sell local products and classic souvenirs in the alleys of the “new old” town, a very fashionable Chinese concept. Don’t miss the hat of woven stems and flowers (depending on the season) Entrance: village: free; temple: 1 yuan Access: by bus from Xinnanmen station in Chengdu.
