Introduction to Sanxingdui Museum
Surprising and modern, the museum is located on the major excavation site of the Sanxingdui relics. It exhibits hundreds of objects that provide a glimpse of the culture of the mysterious Ba-Shu civilization. The oldest relics date back to the third millennium BC! The pottery, jade sculptures and bronze statues all present an original style shrouded in mystery. Even specialists disagree on many interpretations of this collection. The explanations (in English) and the reconstructions nevertheless allow us to better identify the way of life of this people. This visit can be completed by the site of Jinsha, to the west of Chengdu, representing a more recent period of the same civilization. Entrance: 80 yuan / person Access: By bus from Xinnanmen station, an early morning departure (13 yuan); the journey lasts 1h30.
