Located 2 hours by car (160 km) southwest of Hangzhou, this artificial lake is in fact a gigantic reservoir of more than 570 km² and a source of drinking water that feeds among the largest brands of Chinese spring water. . As its name suggests, there are more than a thousand islets of various sizes on the lake’s waters.The lake has earned its reputation thanks to the purity of its water, its green mountains and a remarkable fauna and flora whether on the islets themselves or around the lake: fruit trees, monkeys, pans and ostriches, among others . It is now considered one of the 5 most beautiful lakes in China and is the largest forest park in the country.On site, you can for example go on a boat trip and explore the islands with animals (birds, monkeys, snakes …), rent bikes or enjoy a guided tour to discover the secrets of the lake. At night, it is possible to admire the starry sky.
Practical information
You can get to the lake from the Hangzhou West Bus Station, where a departure is scheduled every 20-50 minutes between 6h and 18h50. The ticket costs 65 ¥ (2h ride).

March to November (8:00-17:00) : 130¥December to February (8:40-16:30) : 110¥The ticket price is -50% for children between 1.20m and 1.50m, and free for those under 1.20m.Price valid for one day only.If you wish to stay one more day, you can add 10¥ so that the ticket is also valid on the second day.
