With its mesmerizing beaches and quaint fishing villages; ancient monasteries and temples nestled among lush mountains, Lantau is truly an adventurous island near the metropolis.09:00 – Departure from the hotel (Kowloon or Hong Kong Island). Take the MTR subway towards Tung Chung Station (about 35-40 minutes)09:45 – Arrival at Tung Chung Station, queue for chairlift to Ngong Ping10:00 – Take the chairlift from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping Village10:30 – Arrival at Ngong Ping Village for the beginning of the visit11:15 – Walk to the monastery Po Lin with its giant bronze Buddha, but also with its ancient paintings and calligraphy. A real treat for your eyes.12:15 – Vegetarian meal at the restaurant of the monastery.13:15 – Take the local bus to Tai’O village (about 20 minutes by bus). Visit the village and pristine beaches. A boat cruise around the old village is included. One of the highlights of this little cruise is the houses on stilts.15:20 – Take the local bus to Mui Wo (about 40 minutes)16:10 – Return to Central by Ferry (about 40 minutes)16:50 – Arrival in Central and return to hotels by metro (10 to 15 minutes)17:10 – Arrival at the hotel (Kowloon or Hong Kong Island)
