The story of the sound and light show Liu San Jie is based on a very popular Chinese musical, was staged by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou. The show is 70 minutes long and includes more than 600 extras, including the Zhuang, Miao and Yao minorities. The different paintings are very well worth, by games of lights and smoke, the phantasmagoric setting of the karst mountains of Yangshuo.The sound and light show Liu San Jie takes place once a day in the low season (20: 00-21: 10, and twice a day during the high season: one session at 8:00 pm, one session at 10:00 pm) The sound and light show Liu San Jie takes place 4kms outside the city of Yangshuo.
