Introduction to Laozhai Mountain

Laozhai Mountain stands at an altitude of over 300 meters above the port of Xingping town halfway between Guilin and Yangshuo. 1,149 steps lead to the summit from where you will have one of the most beautiful views of the meandering Li River, rivaled only by the Xiangongshan panoramic platform. In the morning, you can take magnificent photos of the sunrise in the East and the misty Li River in the West. In the afternoon (on the video), you can witness an unforgettable sunset in the West (on a clear day!). Entrance is free and the climb takes about 40 minutes, quite tiring and steep, semi-developed, on a path made up of large stone steps and ladders near the summit. Not recommended if it is raining or too wet, some parts are without protective barriers and can be slippery. However, if the weather is bad the view will be non-existent.
